Everything you need for piling construction installation and beyond.
From pile drivers, piling construction, steel dock pilings, steel pipe, heavy pile, and more, Pittsburgh Pipe is the only pile expert you need for your next project.
Pipe piling has been popular since the late 1980s. Industries that use heavy loads and deep foundation structures benefit the most from pipe piling. It’s a round pile designed to be driven into the ground, capped or uncapped, and filled with concrete. Friction with the soil keeps the pile in place. The pile design depends on ground conditions and support. The Pittsburgh Pipe team can modify pile pipes according to your needs.
The advantages of pipe piling products include:
- The ability to withstand heavy loads
- High strength against many environmental conditions
- 30% increase in skin friction over H-piles
- Balanced weight distribution
- Fillable with concrete and rebar to withstand underground pressures
Micro piles are high-capacity, high-performance deep foundation elements that can be driven into the ground 200 feet deep and withstand workloads of over 200 tons. Micropiles are made of high-strength steel casing, cement grout, and rebar. Micropiles transfer the load through poor soil layers to suitable foundation soils. The loads are passed from the foundation through steel and cement grout and shed to the surrounding ground through high friction.
Micro piles are great to use against harsh ground conditions like artificial or natural constructions or sensitive ground. Micro piles cost-effectively underpin structures affected by nearby construction, enhance mass stability, and renovate aging foundation systems. Pittsburgh Pipe provides micro piles and other steel pile pipe construction products tailored to your unique requirements.
