Our History
In 1977 Joseph Bergfeld and his business partner, Bill Manser, started Pittsburgh Pipe in St. Louis, MO. They became part of the construction service industry and began supplying underground utility contractors with steel bore casing. Since that time, the company has grown from one location with just three employees to three locations with more than 70 employees. Our growth has allowed Pittsburgh Pipe not only to distribute steel casing pipe, but to manufacture and fabricate it as well.
In the center of the United Sates, we are strategically located to allow for truck, rail, and river transportation. This helps get our products to our customers faster, allowing them to finish their jobs on time.

We put a lot of time and effort into making sure our steel pipe is the best in the industry. Our manufacturing processes include 28 separate inspections and measurements to ensure our customers receive the best product for their project.
